  • Tossing and turning all night long, replaying a really bad fight with your partner in your head.
  • Leaning on friends for advice about the same old problems to the point where you feel like a broken record.

“Alexa has taught us a number of various tools that we can apply in our day-to-day lives."
-T&C

We have found it to be very useful, as it allowed us to relate and explain why we do the things we do as couples. As well, we are excited to be able to maintain passion and intimacy as the years go on, thanks to the guidance of such a highly qualified relationship counsellor. Alexa has established herself as a knowledgeable counsellor. We would definitely recommend her to other couples.

What’s the difference between Relationship Counselling and Couples Counselling?

Relationship Counselling is for individuals who want to do the inner work to heal their relationship with themselves, current or future romantic relationships, or platonic relationships. Couples Counselling is for committed couples who are ready to do the work together. You can learn more about Couples Counselling here to see which option is best for you.

Relationship Counselling FAQs

How much do Relationship Counselling sessions cost?

Individual sessions start at $160 (plus GST) per 50-minute session. Payments can be made by credit card or e-transfer.

Do you accept health insurance?

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC#13309) my services are covered by a number of extended health benefit plans. Please consult with your service provider to determine the type of coverage you have. Clients are responsible for paying for sessions and then submitting their claim to their insurance provider. On request, a receipt will be provided for you to submit for reimbursement.

How many sessions will I need?

The length of counselling can vary significantly from person to person. Usually, the first 2-4 sessions will be spent getting to know one another, building trust, and establishing goals for the things you hope to accomplish in therapy. While individuals looking to work on a specific issue may only require a limited number of sessions, it usually takes a minimum of 6 months of therapy for long-standing change to occur.

Are there any risks to counselling?

While counselling can be an excellent source of support it’s normal to experience stronger than usual emotions when exploring difficult topics and trying out new behaviours. If you feel uncomfortable with the interventions I suggest or with the pace, know that we can adjust things as needed.

Where are you located?

We are conveniently located at 214-525 Seymour Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 3H6. The office is in the Seymour Building. It’s easily accessible by bus and Skytrain. Street and paid parking can be found nearby.
