If you’ve ever wondered why something as beautiful as love can feel so hard, you’re not alone.

You want connection, but end up in the same arguments. You want closeness, but feel distant. Maybe you’ve tried to figure it out on your own—or told yourself that real love shouldn’t take this much work.

Here’s the truth: most of us were never taught how to do relationships well. But just like anything worth having, love takes learning—and that’s exactly what this episode is all about.

You’re Not Doing It Wrong—You Just Haven’t Been Taught

In the first episode of Build to Love, I’m pulling back the curtain on why relationships feel harder than we expect—and what you can do to make love last.

Whether you’re feeling stuck in a cycle of miscommunication or just want to protect the connection you already have, this episode gives you the starting point you’ve been looking for.

Here’s a look at what we cover:

Why Relationships Can Feel So Hard

Let’s start here—because this is where most couples get stuck.

  • We’re not taught how to communicate clearly or navigate conflict
  • Most of us model our relationship skills based on what we saw growing up (and it’s not always healthy)
  • Trial and error often leads to heartbreak—not progress

The result? You end up thinking something is wrong with you or your relationship—when really, no one gave you the tools.

My Personal Journey (And Why I Do This Work)

I didn’t become a relationship coach just for the credentials—I did it because I needed the help, too.

After experiencing multiple heartbreaks and unhealthy relationships, I dove headfirst into understanding what makes love last. I read every book, went through couples training, and worked through my own baggage in therapy.

It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. And now, I help couples build the kind of relationship I fought so hard to create in my own life.

What to Expect From This Podcast

This isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention. When you and your partner learn how to work as a team, everything changes.

Imagine This…

No more guessing games. No more silent treatment. No more weekend-long arguments that leave you both drained.

Instead, you’ll know how to navigate hard conversations, understand each other more deeply, and build a relationship that feels safe and secure.
